Pastor Cal Alexander

Dr. Calvin Alexander came to Miller Church in August of 2001.  Pastor Cal (as he prefers to be called) was born and raised in a commercial fishing family on the rocky coast of Maine is a third generation pastor.  He received God's call to ministry as a very young child and received his first minister's license as a sophomore in high school.  As a teen he preached in summer camps and revivals.

He graduated from Eastern Nazarene College in Boston, Massachusetts with a BA and MA in pastoral ministry.  He was ordained at age 22 and was appointed to pioneer a new church in western Massachusetts.  He received his DMin from Trinity Theological Seminary.

God has used Pastor Cal to be instrumental in starting four churches and restarting three others.  He has pastored churches in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maryland and Maine before coming to Ohio in 1989.  Here he pastored churches in Circleville, Pataskala and Painesville before coming to Miller Church.

Pastor's spiritual gift and favorite part of ministry is preaching and teaching.  He loves humor and we laugh often at Miller Church.  He seeks to develop a worship experience that has form without formality, a meaningful and singable blend of traditional and contemporary music, warm and personal prayers, and clear, practical, biblical sermons.

Pastor Cal is married to Sharon, a first grade public school teacher in the Licking Heights School District.  They have two grown sons, Kenneth and Christopher, and three dogs. Find Pastor and you'll often find Bingo the beagle not far away.  (Oh, and he loves lobster but hates okra.)
